Job summary

ion-tec Ltd in Sheffield is seeking an experienced CNC Turner who can take on genuine setting responsibility and self-inspection of precision components. Working with DMG Mori turning centres, you will handle challenging materials and tight tolerances, with growth into higher-level precision machining.

You’ll set tooling, offsets and programs, learn from skilled engineers, and use Siemens NX CAD/CAM and Vericut simulation to optimise manufacturing strategies for aerospace, defence and energy

Qualifications

• CNC turning experience with genuine setting responsibility.
• Engineering apprenticeship and/or strong time-served machining experience.
• Experience working to tight tolerances and inspecting your own work.
• Confidence with tooling, tool changes and offsets.

Responsibilities

• Setting, tooling, offsets and self-inspection on small-batch, high-precision parts.
• Work with Manufacturing Engineers to develop machining strategies using NX CAD/CAM and Vericut.
• Operate and optimise DMG Mori CNC turning centres while maintaining quality.
