Job summary
Orion Electrotech Ltd in Ely is recruiting an experienced CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator to join their precision engineering team. The role covers programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines to produce high-spec components for aerospace and defence sectors.
You will read engineering drawings, interpret specifications and perform in-process inspections to ensure tight tolerances and quality.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CNC Turner.
- Ability to independently programme, set and operate CNC lathes.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
- Experience machining complex components to tight tolerances.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines.
- Manufacturing precision-engineered components to tight tolerances.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Carrying out in-process inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
- Making tooling and offset adjustments as required.
- Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping.
- Working closely with the production team to meet customer deadlines.
