Job summary

Orion Electrotech Ltd in Cambridge is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join a precision engineering team. You will program, set and operate CNC turning machines to manufacture high-tolerance components for aerospace and defence sectors.

This permanent, full-time role offers a salary up to £39,000 with a Monday–Thursday 8:00–16:30 and Friday 7:00–15:30 pattern. You will read drawings, inspect in-process, adjust tooling, and work with minimal supervision in a modern manufacturing

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner.
• Ability to independently programme, set and operate CNC lathes.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and precision machining techniques.
• Experience producing complex components to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines.
• Manufacturing precision-engineered components to tight tolerances.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Carrying out in-process inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
• Making tooling and offset adjustments as required.
• Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping.
• Working closely with the production team to meet production targets and customer deadlines.
