Optima UK is seeking an experienced CNC Turner to join a dynamic manufacturing team in Hinckley. You will set up, operate, and oversee CNC turning machines to produce high-quality components for multiple industries.

The role requires precise measurement using micrometers and calipers, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Set up and operate CNC turning machines following drawings and specs.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and tool-related problems.
• Use micrometers and calipers for precision measurements.
• Work both independently and with a team to meet quality targets.

Responsibilities

• Review job orders and interpret specifications and drawings.
• Set up and calibrate CNC turning machines with the correct tools.
• Operate vertical boring machines (training provided).
• Interpret blueprints and work instructions to produce components.
• Load materials and input machine settings to meet specs.
• Perform quality checks using micrometers and calipers.
• Monitor machines and adjust for tool wear and efficiency.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with production team to meet deadlines and safety standards.
• Adhere to safety, quality, and environmental protocols.
