Are you an experienced CNC Turner looking to work on complex, high-precision components for some of the most demanding engineering sectors in the UK? This is an opportunity to join a rapidly expanding precision engineering business, work with advanced CNC turning technology and build your career in a modern, high-performing machine shop. Interviews are taking place now!

Location: Daventry

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 PA, Mon-Fri Day Shift

This CNC Turner role sits within a skilled precision engineering team producing prototype and low-volume, high-precision components for the Motorsport, Aerospace and Automotive sectors. You will join a collaborative manufacturing environment where quality, innovation and operational excellence are at the heart of every project.

Responsibilities
  • Setting, operating and optimising CNC turning centres to maximise machine performance and productivity
  • Manufacturing complex, high-precision components from detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Working with Fanuc and/or Siemens controls, making tool offsets and machine adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy
  • Proving out prototype and new production components, providing feedback on tooling, workholding, cutting strategies, speeds and feeds
  • Completing in-process inspection using micrometers, verniers, bore gauges and other measuring equipment to achieve tight tolerances
  • Troubleshooting machining and tooling issues while working closely with Quality, Planning and Engineering teams to improve processes and minimise downtime
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner within a precision engineering environment
  • Strong experience setting and operating CNC lathes, ideally using Fanuc and/or Siemens controls
  • Experience machining prototype or low-volume, high-precision components to tight tolerances
  • A good understanding of tooling, cutting data, workholding and machining techniques across a variety of materials
  • Confidence reading engineering drawings and GD&T, alongside experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment

This CNC Turner position would suit a proactive machinist who enjoys solving technical challenges, takes pride in producing exceptional work and wants to contribute to continuous improvement. Experience with twin-spindle, twin-turret or multi-axis lathes, live tooling or mill-turn operations would be particularly valuable, although it is not essential.
