Job summary

Bromford Precision Solutions Leicester are seeking a Setter/Operator – CNC Turner to join our precision manufacturing team. The role involves setting up Mazak 1600 Turning Lathe, reading CNC code, and ensuring quality output within a structured production plan.

You will work on 46.40 hours per week (weekday night shift) and contribute to preventative maintenance, tooling setup, and accurate measurement using micrometers, verniers, height gauges and CMM as required.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in the Aerospace/Automotive Industry in a similar role.
• Apprentice trained – preferred or demonstrated relevant experience.
• Working to production timelines in a manufacturing environment.
• Working with SOPs and Company specific documentation.
• Self-driven, results orientated, with a positive outlook.
• Able to get on with others and be a team-player.
• Attention to detail and accuracy at all times.
• Working to deadlines.
• Managing workload effectively, prioritising where necessary.

Responsibilities

• Use and control of CNC programs in accordance with relevant procedures.
• Ability to read and understand CNC code to the level required for machine set up and operation.
• Understand all set up parameters and the effect that they have on the process, for example, datum setting and tool length and wear offsets.
• Set up machines with the required work holding and tooling in accordance with relevant procedures.
• Working as a team to maximise machine utilisation.
• Working to structured manufacturing plan.
• Responsible for setting and operating a Mazak 1600 Turning Lathe.
• Responsible for quality output.
• Responsible for Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM).
• Capable of using measuring equipment such as Micrometers, Vernier Callipers, Height Towers, Shadow Graphs, CMM etc.
