Job summary

Bromford Precision Solutions in Leicester, UK, is recruiting a Setter/Operator CNC Turner to join our manufacturing team. You will set up Mazak 1600 lathes, read CNC programs, and ensure quality output on a structured manufacturing plan.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years in Aerospace/Automotive, apprentice-trained or equivalent, and can work to deadlines with a strong team ethos. Shift pattern includes night shifts with a 46.4-hour week.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in Aerospace/Automotive industry in a similar role.
• Apprentice trained preferred or demonstrated relevant experience.
• Working to production timelines in a manufacturing environment.
• Working with SOPs and Company specific documentation.
• Self-driven, results orientated, with a positive outlook.

Responsibilities

• Use and control of CNC programs in accordance with relevant procedures.
• Read and understand CNC code to the level required for machine set up and operation.
• Set up machines with the required work holding and tooling.
• Work as part of a team to maximise machine utilisation.
• Work to structured manufacturing plan.
• Responsible for setting and operating a Mazak 1600 Turning Lathe.
• Ensure quality output.
• Perform TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance).
• Capable of using measuring equipment such as Micrometers, Vernier Callipers, Height Towers, Shadow Graphs, CMM etc.

Shift Pattern: 46.40 Hours Weekday Night Shift 18.00 - 06.00 Monday - Thursday

Salary: £22.20 per hour (inclusive of shift allowance)

• Understand all set up parameters and the effect that they have on the process, for example, datum setting and tool length and wear offsets.
• Set up machines with the required work holding and tooling in accordance with relevant procedures.
• Working as a team to maximise machine utilisation.
• Working to structured manufacturing plan.
• Responsible for setting and operating a Mazak 1600 Turning Lathe.
• Responsible for quality output.
• Responsible for Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM).
• Capable of using measuring equipment such as Micrometers, Vernier Callipers, Height Towers, Shadow Graphs, CMM etc.
