Job summary

An experienced CNC Turner/ Programmer/ Setter/ Operator is sought for an on-site role in a specialist engineering workshop. Salary is £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, with full-time hours, Monday to Friday (8am-5pm).

You will program, set and operate 3-axis CNC lathes with live tooling and work from FANUC controls, reading engineering drawings to tight tolerances. Responsibilities include selecting tooling, speeds and feeds, setting tools and coordinates, inspecting components with precision

Qualifications

• Proven CNC turning experience.
• Experience with 3-axis lathes incorporating live tooling.
• Strong online and offline FANUC programming experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working to tight engineering tolerances.
• Strong knowledge of tooling, cutting speeds and feeds.
• Competent with precision measuring equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate 3-axis CNC lathes with live tooling.
• Programme both online and offline using FANUC controls.
• Interpret detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Select tooling, work holding, speeds and feeds.
• Set tools, offsets and work coordinates.
• Produce components to tight tolerances and high-quality finishes.
• Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment.
• Make programme and tooling adjustments where required.
• Work with a range of engineering materials including steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and machine/tooling care.
• Work closely with engineers and workshop colleagues to resolve manufacturing challenges.
