Job summary
Optima UK Inc Ltd in Coventry is seeking a skilled CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator to join our precision engineering team. You will programme, set and operate CNC lathes, primarily on small-batch, high-precision components, reading engineering drawings and applying tight tolerances.
You will work with Edgecam for offline programming and FANUC controls, taking ownership from programming through to inspection. A strong problem-solver with meticulous attention to detail will thrive here.
Qualifications
- Strong CNC turning experience with ability to program, set and operate CNC lathes.
- Experience reading complex engineering drawings and applying tight tolerances.
- Proven capability in developing sub‑assemblies in small-batch production.
Responsibilities
- Programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
- Producing small-batch precision components.
- Programming online at machine and offline.
- Creating/modifying CNC programs for components and batches.
- Using Edgecam for offline programming - essential.
- Working with FANUC controls - essential.
- Selecting tooling, workholding and cutting parameters.
- Setting up machines and establishing datums/offsets.
- Proving out programmes safely and efficiently.
- First-off and in-process inspection.
