Job summary

Holt Engineering Ltd in Yeovil is seeking an experienced CNC Turner for a night shift to support a well-run precision engineering workshop. The role calls for setting and operating Mazak lathes from engineering drawings to produce high-quality components.

You will undertake first-off and in-process inspection checks, adjust offsets and tooling, and help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient factory floor with a stable workload and long-term potential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a CNC Turner in a precision engineering environment.
• Able to set and operate Mazak lathes from engineering drawings.
• Capable of first-off and in-process inspection using measuring equipment.

Are you an experienced CNC Turner looking for a new role in precision engineering?

We're recruiting for an established engineering business in Yeovil, offering £29 per hour and the opportunity to join a well‑organised workshop with a consistent workload and long‑term potential.

This role would suit a CNC Turner confident in setting and operating CNC lathes, working from engineering drawings and producing accurate components to specification.

What you'll be doing

• Setting and operating CNC turning machines to produce precision components.
• Working from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Carrying out first‑off and in‑process inspection checks using measuring equipment.
• Adjusting offsets and tooling to maintain component accuracy.
• Ensuring efficient machine operation to meet production requirements.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a CNC Turner.
• Ability to confidently set and operate CNC Mazak lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using measuring and inspection equipment.A quality‑focused approach and attention to detail.

Experience in precision engineering, working to tight tolerances, and familiarity with Mazak or similar CNC controls would be advantageous.
