Job Opportunity: Production Machinist / CNC Operator

We are collaborating with a reputable local engineering business to recruit a Production Machinist / CNC Operator responsible for producing finished parts using advanced CNC machinery.

Our client specializes in manufacturing custom plastic components. Due to retirement, they are seeking a CNC engineer, setter, and programmer (turner) to produce intricate plastic parts across various industries. This role may suit a recently qualified apprentice with strong hands-on engineering skills or an experienced engineer looking to join a small, dynamic team.

The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, motivated, and capable of working independently to produce precision parts on Citizen CNC machines.

Experience with plastics is not mandatory but advantageous; training will be provided for suitable candidates.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a self-starter with initiative
• Has experience in producing precision parts
• Can operate Citizen CNC sliding head machines
• Possesses sliding head experience
• Has a good engineering background or education in mechanical engineering
• Is a team player
• Can read and interpret engineering drawings

Skills and Attributes:

• Good organization, planning, and prioritization skills
• Experience with manual production machines
• Proficiency in CNC machinery operation
• Ability to work independently

Benefits and Working Conditions:

• Working hours: 08:00 - 16:30, weekdays, with overtime
• Full-time, permanent role
• Salary: £16.00 - £19.60 per hour
• Expected hours: 40-50 per week
