Job summary

ESS Employment Ltd. in Yate is looking for a CNC Turner Operator to join an established manufacturing team on a permanent basis. You will set up and operate Fanuc turning machines, produce components to drawing specs, and work from early and late shifts with a rotating schedule.

You will collaborate with engineers to optimize processes, perform in-process inspections, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Fanuc CNC turning experience required.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Full machine setup including fixtures and datum alignment.
• GD&T knowledge and use of precision measuring equipment.
• Experience with CMM/Opticline inspection preferred.

Responsibilities

CNC TURNER OPERATOR

ESS Employment are seeking an CNC Turner Operator to work for an established company. The successful candidate will assist in the manufacturing of parts through the production process, ensuring planned times for setting and manufacturing are met or improved; and high-quality parts produced within required performance, cost and delivery targets.

Responsibilities:

• Set and operate Fanuc-controlled CNC turning machines.
• Produce precision components to drawing and customer specifications.
• Set tooling, manufacture soft jaws, and establish machine datums.
• Inspect components using precision measuring equipment.
• Optimise cycle times while maintaining quality and safety.
• Troubleshoot tooling, programme, and machine issues.
• Complete production documentation and support continuous improvement.
• You will work closely with engineers and other manufacturing personnel to optimize production processes and achieve efficient and accurate machining operations.
• Attention to detail and ability to perform in-process inspections to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
• Adherence to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment – Zero Tolerance to safety.
• Knowledge of machine guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge and experience in operating CNC machines, specifically Fanuc Controls.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Able to fully set CNC machines, including installing workpieces, fixtures, cutting tools, and datum all tools and work shifts.
• Engineering, drawing interpretation and GD&T.
• Use of varies measuring Equipment: Micrometers, verniers, bore gauges and plug gauges.
• Good working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and Engineering drawings is essential.
• Understanding machine parameters, speeds, feeds, and optimization techniques for efficient production.
• Ability to produce components to drawing tolerance and specifications, efficiently and accurately as required by internal and external customer specifications.
• Excellent Problem-Solving Skills.
