Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking an experienced CNC Turning Operator to join its precision engineering team. The role focuses on setting and operating CNC turning and Mill-Turn machines to produce high-precision components for highly regulated industries.

You will read engineering drawings, interpret CNC programs, and ensure quality and safety through in-process inspections. Aerospace experience is advantageous, and familiarity with Heidenhain controls is highly desirable, with Fanuc or other controls

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-axis turning experience with Mill-Turn machine capability.
• Experience machining high-precision components in regulated industries.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Heidenhain experience preferred; other controls considered.

Are you an experienced CNC Turner looking for your next opportunity?

Our client, a leading precision engineering manufacturer supplying highly regulated industries, is looking for an exceptional CNC Turning Operator to join their growing Manufacturing Department. With a strong and expanding order book, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC machinist to join an established team producing high-precision components.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience setting and operating CNC turning machines, including Mill-Turn machines, and machining high-precision metal components such as stainless steel, nickel and titanium. Aerospace experience is advantageous, and knowledge of Heidenhain controls is highly desirable. Candidates with experience using other controls, including Fanuc, will also be considered if they meet the essential requirements.

Job Description

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

• Proven experience setting and operating CNC turning machines, with a minimum of 2-axis turning experience, alongside confidence operating Mill-Turn machines.
• Experience machining high-precision metal components within a highly regulated industry, such as aerospace, automotive or nuclear.
• Knowledge of machining materials such as stainless steel, nickel and titanium, with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of CNC programming, machine set-up, tooling and machining parameters; Heidenhain controls are highly desirable, although Fanuc and other controls will be considered.
• A proactive approach to quality, safety and continuous improvement, with aerospace standards experience advantageous and ideally three or more years in a similar role.
