Job summary

Contek Recruitment Solutions Ltd represents a client in Dudley seeking skilled CNC Turners to program, set up and operate CNC lathes across sectors including food, automotive and nuclear.

Proficiency with XYZ Prototrak or Siemens controls is required; duties include reading drawings and GD&T, selecting tooling, adjusting offsets and improving cycle times while ensuring quality and safety. Shift options include days or nights with a 25% allowance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner with proficiency in programming, setting, and operating lathes.
• Proficiency with XYZ Prototrak or Siemens controls is required. (Other systems will be considered)
• Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and cutting parameters.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T symbols.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Versed within reverse engineering and repairs within a mixture of medium to heavy environments.
• The ability to look at a repair project and decide on the best methods for work holding and machining.
• Select and install cutting tools, adjust tool offsets, and make necessary machine adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
• Interpret and modify CNC programs as needed to optimize machining processes and minimize cycle times.
• Perform regular machine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure smooth operations and prevent downtime.
• Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Job description

At Contek, we're proud to represent a client based in Dudley, specializing in reactive and planned mechanical engineering services across various industries including food, automotive, and nuclear sectors. As our representation expands, we are seeking highly skilled and motivated CNC Turners

Working Hours (Either days or nights):

• Monday-Friday 7:30-4:00pm
• OR
• Flexible 4 day Mon-Thurs Night shift.
• Either 6pm-6:30am or 6pm-4:30am
• Shift allowance of 25%

Position Overview:

We are looking for CNC Turners who is proficient in programming, setting up, and operating CNClathes The ideal candidate will have experience working with XYZ Prototrak or Siemens controls. They will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, ensuring high-quality production and meeting strict deadlines.
