About the Opportunity
Bolt Technical are recruiting for skilled CNC Turners to join a well-established precision engineering business in Bromborough. We are seeking experienced CNC Turners, or Machinists with experience across both disciplines to support the manufacture of high-precision components for a range of demanding industries. Working within a modern machining environment, you will play a key role in delivering quality, efficiency and continuous improvement across the shop floor.
CNC Turning Responsibilities
- Program, set and operate CNC Turning Centres.
- Machine components to customer specifications and quality standards.
- Work on Fanuc-controlled machinery and other control systems where applicable.
- Select tooling, offsets and cutting data to maximise efficiency and quality.
- Conduct first-off and in-process inspections throughout production runs.
- Assist with process improvements and productivity initiatives.
- Report tooling, machine and quality concerns to Supervisors and Team Leaders.
General Responsibilities
- Work safely and in accordance with all Health & Safety procedures.
- Ensure all work produced meets required quality standards.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards within the work area.
- Work to production plans and achieve departmental targets.
- Complete timesheets, production records and quality documentation.
- Support the training and development of apprentices and junior operators.
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement activities throughout the manufacturing department.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience setting and operating CNC Turning machines.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience working with aluminium, stainless steel and other engineering materials.
- Strong understanding of tooling, cutting data and machining practices.
- Ability to work to tight tolerances and quality standards.
- Good communication skills and a team-focused approach.
- Flexible approach to shift working.
Desirable
- CNC programming experience.
- Experience with Siemens or Heidenhain control systems.
- Experience machining large-diameter components.
- Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Aerospace, defence or precision engineering background.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
