Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace Yeovil is seeking a CNC Turner (Skilled/Indentured Skilled) for the night shift to manufacture precision aerospace components to exacting standards.

You will set and run bespoke work on 2-axis CNC lathes, perform OCQ checks, interpret drawings, and ensure on-time delivery in a lean, safety-focused environment with teamwork under a Team Lead.

Qualifications

• Experience with small components and high-precision work.
• CNC turning or related machining experience; manual turning welcome.
• Strong understanding of safety-critical aerospace expectations.
• PC literacy to support job-related systems and documentation.
• Quality-first mindset with consistent measurement and verification.
• Teamwork, flexibility, and ability to use initiative.
• Desirable: Mazatrol/Mazak experience.
• Desirable: Engineering apprenticeship (not essential).

Responsibilities

• Manufacture parts from start to finish on centre lathes to aerospace specifications.
• Set and run bespoke work on 2-axis CNC lathes.
• Perform OCQ (Operator Control of Quality) checks, including stamping to confirm assembly quality to Honeywell and customer standards.
• Interpret engineering drawings and follow process layout and documentation procedures.
• Maintain on-time delivery by completing work to plan and to the required standard.
• Work effectively in a lean environment and support continuous improvement.
• Measure and verify components using hand measuring equipment (e.g., Vernier, micrometer, thread and plug gauges).
• Follow strict Health & Safety practices and company processes at all times.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment and report to the Team Lead.

Shifts: 34.5 hours per week - Sun 22:00-07:00; Mon-Fri 00:00-07:00

Pay: £16.13 - £24.20 per hour (dependent on experience)
