Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment is seeking an experienced CNC Trainer to develop apprentices and operators within a precision engineering environment in Whitstable. You will mentor hands-on learners and support the transfer of skills across the machine shop, focusing on accuracy, safety and best practice.

Qualifications

• Proven CNC lathe setting and operating experience in precision engineering.
• Strong understanding of Nakamura and Citizen CNC machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using measuring/inspection equipment.
• Understanding of machining processes and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver CNC training programmes for apprentices and employees.
• Provide hands-on training on Nakamura and Citizen CNC lathes.
• Assess competency and identify development needs.
• Maintain training plans and skills matrices.
• Support apprentices throughout their learning journey.
• Identify skills gaps with production teams.
• Train in machine setting and operation techniques.
• Deliver training on inspection methods and measuring equipment.
• Promote quality and traceability standards.
• Coach staff on tooling, machine optimisation and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Assist in developing training materials.
• Support audits related to training and competency.
