Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment is seeking an experienced CNC Trainer to develop apprentices and operators within a precision engineering environment in Whitstable. Qualifications

• Proven CNC lathe setting and operating experience in precision engineering.
• Strong understanding of Nakamura and Citizen CNC machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using measuring/inspection equipment.
• Understanding of machining processes and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver CNC training programmes for apprentices and employees.
• Provide hands-on training on Nakamura and Citizen CNC lathes.

The Opportunity

Our client, a successful and growing precision engineering manufacturer, is looking for an experienced CNC professional to join their team as a CNC Trainer. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC Setter/Operator who enjoys mentoring others and sharing technical expertise. You will play a key role in developing apprentices, new starters and existing employees, helping to build capability across the machine shop while promoting quality, efficiency and safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Proven CNC lathe setting and operating experience within precision engineering
• Strong knowledge of Nakamura and Citizen CNC machinery
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience using measuring and inspection equipment
• Excellent understanding of machining processes, tooling and quality standards
• Strong communication, coaching and mentoring skills
• GCSE English and Maths or equivalent relevant experience

Desirable

• NVQ Level 3, BTEC, HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification
• Assessor, coaching or training qualification
• Experience training apprentices
• Knowledge of apprenticeship standards
• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience

Applicants must be physically capable of carrying out duties which may include lifting, bending and standing for extended periods.
