Job summary

Market 36 Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a CNC Tool Cutter Grinder / CNC Machinist for a client in Braintree, Essex. The role is full-time, focused on setting, operating and programming multi-axis CNC grinding machines to manufacture and regrind a range of precision cutting tools.

You will programme using software such as ANCA or iGrind, read engineering drawings, conduct in-process inspections and maintain high accuracy, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience setting, operating and/or programming CNC machinery.
• 5-axis CNC or CNC grinding experience advantageous.
• Knowledge of carbide and HSS cutting tools and tool geometries beneficial.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Confident using precision measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality-focused approach.
• Formal CNC programming or precision engineering training advantageous.
• Experience in aerospace, automotive or precision engineering environments beneficial.
• Full training provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Programming, editing and optimising CNC machine paths using manufacturer software such as ANCA, iGrind or similar.
• Setting, calibrating and operating CNC tool and cutter grinding machines.
• Manufacturing and regrinding drills, end mills, reamers, form tools and bespoke cutting tools.
• Reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings and tooling specifications.
• Carrying out in-process quality inspections using micrometers, verniers and optical measuring systems.
• Ensuring finished components meet the required levels of accuracy and quality.
• Carrying out routine CNC machine maintenance and wheel dressing.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Working closely with the wider engineering and production team to meet production requirements.

CNC Tool Cutter Grinder / CNC Machinist

Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a CNC Tool Cutter Grinder / CNC Machinist on behalf of our client based in Braintree, Essex, on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating and programming multi-axis CNC grinding machines, manufacturing and regrinding a range of precision cutting tools. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established precision engineering business offering ongoing training and development.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Experience with 5-axis CNC machinery or CNC grinding machines would be highly advantageous.

• Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
• Confident using precision measuring equipment.

• Good mechanical and problem-solving skills.
• Formal CNC programming or precision engineering training would be advantageous.
• Previous experience within aerospace, automotive or precision engineering environments would be beneficial.
• Full training will be provided to the right candidate.

Hours:

Salary:

£30,000 - £40,000 dependent on experience + overtime opportunities
