Qualifications

Job description

Our client are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Grinder to join their precision manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC grinding machinery to produce complex, ultra-tight tolerance components. Your work will ensure that our advanced materials meet exacting engineering specifications for high-performance industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Operation & Setup: Set up, program (using G-code or conversational software), and operate CNC grinding machines (surface, cylindrical, and/or tool and cutter grinders) to machine advanced materials.
• Precision Measurement: Utilize high-precision inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and optical comparators to verify dimensions and maintain tight tolerances (often within microns).
• Quality Control: Monitor machining processes, adjust offsets, and inspect finished parts for surface finish quality, geometric accuracy, and defect prevention.
• Tooling Maintenance: Select, dress, and maintain grinding wheels and tooling, ensuring optimal performance and minimal wear.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications.
• Continuous Improvement: Troubleshoot machining issues, optimize cycle times, and collaborate with the engineering and quality teams to improve production workflows.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of hands-on experience operating and programming CNC grinding equipment in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in reading blueprints, utilizing precision measuring instruments, and understanding the machining behaviors of hard, brittle, or advanced engineering materials.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot tooling, setup, or programming challenges independently.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or machining trade school education is a strong plus.
