Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a CNC Lead Setter/Operator in Hastings. This permanent role reports to the Production Manager, guiding and supporting CNC machinists and operators, keeping production flowing and raising standards across safety, quality and delivery.

You will coordinate daily workloads, troubleshoot machining and programming issues, investigate non-conformances, monitor performance, and coach the team through onboarding and skills development.

Qualifications

• Extensive CNC machining experience with a strong shop-floor background.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience leading or supervising a small team.

CNC Lead Setter / Operator

Hastings, East Sussex (Commutable from: St Leonards-on-Sea, Bexhill, Battle, Rye, Eastbourne, Hailsham, Tunbridge Wells)

Are you a CNC Supervisor or CNC Setter, looking for a role where you can take real ownership, lead from the front and drive continuous improvement in a precision machining environment?

On offer is a permanent position reporting directly to the Production Manager, where you will guide and support CNC Machinists and Operators, keep production flowing, and help raise standards across safety, quality and delivery.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established engineering manufacturer with a strong focus on high standards, 6S and process improvement, where your leadership and technical judgement will make a visible impact.

In this role you will coordinate daily workloads, troubleshoot machining, tooling and programming issues, investigate non-conformances, monitor performance (cycle times, utilisation and efficiency) and coach the team through onboarding and skills development.

This role would suit a CNC Supervisor or experienced CNC Machinist/Setter ready to step up into a hands‑on leadership position, with responsibility, autonomy and the chance to improve how a department runs. There will be further progression opportunities in the future.

The Role:

• Supervise and support CNC machinists/operators
• Coordinate daily priorities to hit production schedules

• Monday‑Thursday 8:00-17:00, Fridays 8:00-14:30 (40 hours)
