Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Limited seeks a CNC Lead Setter / Operator in Hastings to lead a skilled machining team in a precision environment. You will supervise CNC machinists, coordinate daily priorities to meet schedules, troubleshoot tooling and programming issues, and drive continuous improvement across safety, quality and delivery.

You'll report to the Production Manager, own the workload planning, support onboarding, and help raise manufacturing standards.

CNC Lead Setter / Operator

Hastings, East Sussex (Commutable from: St Leonards-on-Sea, Bexhill, Battle, Rye, Eastbourne, Hailsham, Tunbridge Wells)

Are you a CNC Supervisor or CNC Setter, looking for a role where you can take real ownership, lead from the front and drive continuous improvement in a precision machining environment?

On offer is a permanent position reporting directly to the Production Manager, where you will guide and support CNC Machinists and Operators, keep production flowing, and help raise standards across safety, quality and delivery.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established engineering manufacturer with a strong focus on high standards, 6S and process improvement, where your leadership and technical judgement will make a visible impact.

In this role you will coordinate daily workloads, troubleshoot machining, tooling and programming issues, investigate non-conformances, monitor performance (cycle times, utilisation and efficiency) and coach the team through onboarding and skills development.

This role would suit a CNC Supervisor or experienced CNC Machinist/Setter ready to step up into a hands-on leadership position, with responsibility, autonomy and the chance to improve how a department runs. There will be further progression opportunities in the future.

The Role:

• Monday-Thursday 8:00-17:00, Fridays 8:00-14:30 (40 hours)
