Job summary

The One Group in Northampton is seeking a CNC Team Leader to head a skilled production team in our machining operation. You will allocate workload, monitor schedules, and drive output while maintaining quality and safety standards.

You'll coach and develop team members, handle performance, training, and attendance, and collaborate with Production, Engineering and Quality to resolve issues and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising a team within CNC machining or manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining across milling, turning and/or grinding.
• Proven ability to coach, develop and manage performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day running of a CNC production team, allocating workload and resources to hit production targets.
• Monitor production schedules, WIP and workflow, tackle bottlenecks and keep work moving in the machine shop.
• Coach and develop your team, manage performance, training, attendance and day-to-day people matters.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering and Quality to resolve manufacturing issues, support NPI and drive continuous improvement.

Are you an experienced CNC Machinist who has moved into leadership, or an established Team Leader looking for your next step?

We're working with a high-performance engine manufacturer in Northampton looking for a CNC Team Leader to lead a skilled team within its machining operation.

Working in a fast-paced environment manufacturing high-performance engine components, you'll take responsibility for your area across people, production, quality and delivery.

What you'll be doing:

• Leading the day-to-day running of a CNC production team, allocating workload and resources to achieve production targets.
• Monitoring production schedules, WIP and workflow, tackling bottlenecks and keeping work moving through the machine shop.
• Coaching and developing your team, managing performance, training, attendance and day-to-day people matters.
• Working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality to resolve manufacturing issues, support NPI and drive continuous improvement.

What we're looking for:

• Previous experience leading or supervising a team within a CNC machining or manufacturing environment.
• A good understanding of CNC machining, ideally across milling, turning and/or grinding.
• Strong people leadership skills with experience coaching, developing and managing performance.
• Good knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, quality and Health & Safety within an engineering environment.
