Job summary

Office Angels in Whitstable is seeking a CNC Setter/Operator to set and run CNC lathes, inspect parts, and maintain machines. The role involves reading engineering drawings, editing Fanuc programmes, and ensuring safety and accuracy while producing small to medium batches.

The position is full-time with rotating fortnightly shifts; salary is £15.50–£17.29 per hour, with pension, bonuses, and optional benefits outlined by the employer.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or higher) or equivalent experience.
• Experience operating CNC lathes (minimum 4 axis) and reading Fanuc programs.
• Ability to read and edit Fanuc-based programmes and interpret engineering drawings.
• High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
• Strong communication and a safety-conscious mindset.
• Able to perform manual labour including lifting and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC lathes to produce small to medium-sized batches efficiently.
• Inspect work against engineering drawings using measuring equipment.
• Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks on machines and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Optimise efficiencies by reducing set-up and cycle times while monitoring tool life.
• Deburr, clean, perform final inspection, and ensure traceability documentation.
• Collaborate with the team to meet production deadlines and maintain quality.
