Job summary

CV Consulting Ltd is recruiting a CNC Setter/Operator to join our precision engineering team. You will set up and operate CNC machines (2-, 3-, and 5-axis), primarily Doosan and Haas, and use verniers, calipers and micrometers to meet drawing specs.

We offer Monday–Thursday 8:00–17:00 and Friday 8:00–16:00 with an early finish, generous holiday entitlement, a company pension and Death in Service benefit. Applicants should have Level 2 education and an engineering qualification.

Qualifications

• General education to Level 2.
• Engineering qualification.
• Experience as CNC Setter/Operator in precision engineering.
• Experience with CNC machine tools and automated machinery.
• Knowledge of inspection methods and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines to detailed product requirements.
• Work on 2-axis, 3-axis, and 5-axis CNC machines (Doosan and Haas).
• Use precision measuring equipment to ensure parts meet specs.
• Operate safely and in line with quality standards.
• Carry out in-process inspections and deburring.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and keep equipment in good order.
• Replace worn tooling promptly.
• Ensure correct loading and clamping of workpieces.
• Report faults or quality concerns promptly.
• Suggest process improvements to improve efficiency and quality.
• Complete required quality, production, and inspection documentation.
• Maintain Health & Safety compliance (ISO 9000, AS9100).
