Job summary

BBE Recruitment is seeking an experienced CNC Setter/Operator just outside Rochester. You will set and run Mori Seiki, Muratec and Citizen machines, perform changeovers and production runs to tight tolerances.

Role involves reading engineering drawings, selecting tooling and programming improvements where needed, and maintaining quality checks with precision measuring tools. Rotating shifts: 6-2 and 2-10, Monday to Friday with no weekends or nights.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating CNC lathes and machining centres.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Experience with Fanuc and Mitsubishi control systems preferred.
• Training can be given for programming from drawings.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join a busy manufacturing environment just outside Rochester area

The Role

You will be responsible for setting and operating Mori Seiki, Muratec and Citizen CNC machines, carrying out changeovers and production runs to drawing specifications and tight tolerances.

Key responsibilities include:

• Setting and operating CNC lathes and machining centres.
• Working with Fanuc and Mitsubishi control systems.
• Modifying and creating CNC programmes from engineering drawings (Training can be given)
• Selecting tooling and supporting machining output.
• Producing components to precise dimensions and tolerances.
• Carrying out quality checks using Verniers, micrometres, height gauges, gauges and SPC.
• Completing production and quality records.
• Carrying out routine machine checks and maintaining a clean, safe working area.

About You

• 3+ years' CNC setting/operating experience.
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Experience with 5S/5C.
• Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Experience with Fanuc/Mitsubishi controls and Mori Seiki, Citizen or Muratec machines is desirable.
• Relevant CNC programming qualification is desirable.
• Relevant apprenticeship preferred.
