Job summary

Pertemps West Bromwich are recruiting a CNC Setter/Operator for a manufacturing client in Wednesbury. The role focuses on setting and operating CNC lathes to produce precision parts per customer drawings, with in-process quality checks and on-time delivery.

You will read and interpret drawings, use measuring equipment, and adjust machines to maintain tight tolerances. This on-site position offers regular hours and a structured shift pattern.

Pertemps West Bromwich are looking for a CNC Setter/Operator on behalf of our manufacturing client in Wednesbury.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC lathes safely and efficiently.
• Manufacture precision parts and components to customer drawings and specifications.
• Read, understand and interpret engineering drawings.
• Use appropriate measuring equipment to ensure components meet required tolerances.
• Carry out in-process quality checks and inspections.
• Make machine adjustments where necessary to maintain product quality.
• Operate multiple machines where required.
• Work closely with the production and quality teams to ensure jobs are completed correctly and on time.

Required Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in CNC setting and operating is essential.
• Previous experience within the manufacturing or precision engineering industry is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Confident using measuring and inspection equipment.
• Good understanding of quality requirements and working to tight tolerances.

Hours & Pay

• 39 hours per week and 07:00am - 16:00pm and 07:00am-12:30pm Fridays.
• The pay rate for this position is between £13.50 per hour and £17.00 per hour dependant on experience and skillset.
