Job summary

MPI Limited in Basildon is seeking a permanent CNC Turner - Setter/Programmer to join its engineering team. The role focuses on low-volume production of aerospace components, with opportunities to set up, prove out and run CNC turning machines.

You will work on Mazak and Fanuc controls, interpret technical drawings, and develop effective workholding and machining strategies to meet tight tolerances. Hours are 8:00 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday, and 8:00 to 15:30 on Fridays.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC turner in high-precision, low-volume environment.
• Able to read complex technical drawings with minimal supervision.
• Familiar with Mazatrol and Fanuc control systems.
• Aerospace machining experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work independently on Mazak and Fanuc controls.
• Interpret technical drawings to develop machining strategies.
• Devise effective workholding solutions for bespoke components.
• Program, set and operate CNC lathes to produce precision aerospace components.
• Ensure all work meets tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Work collaboratively with engineers and quality teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.

The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Turner - Setter- Programmer to join the skilled team, to produce low volume batch production. — each component is unique, offering variety and challenge on a daily basis. You'll be responsible for, setting, proving out and operating CNC turning machines, ensuring complex aerospace parts are produced accurately and efficiently.
