Optima UK Inc Ltd is seeking a CNC Router & Laser Operator for a Leicestershire-based signaling signage manufacturer. The role requires experience operating CNC routers and/or lasers, with responsibility for loading materials like ACM, aluminium, acrylic, PVC, MDF and foamex, and working to production schedules.

The ideal candidate will program or edit jobs using CAD/CAM router software, perform quality checks, and maintain equipment while adhering to health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC routers and/or lasers.
• Able to stand for long periods and communicate well.
• Willingness to learn to operate/set other machinery.

Responsabilités

• Operate CNC routers and lasers to cut signage components.
• Load, set, and unload materials (ACM, aluminium, acrylic, PVC, MDF, foamex).
• Program or edit jobs using CAD/CAM or router software.
• Check parts against drawings and job sheets for accuracy and finish.
• Perform basic quality checks and housekeeping.
• Maintain machines and monitor tool wear.
• Ensure correct material orientation, feeds, and speeds.
• Meet production schedules and deadlines.
• Follow health and safety procedures.
• Coordinate with sign makers and production staff.

CNC Router & Laser Operator

Location: South Leicestershire

Pay: £14.50 - £16.40 per hour depending on experience

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 7am - 3.30pm.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a CNC Router & Laser Setter Operator for a manufacturing company based in Leicester. Our client is looking for someone who has existing experience of operating CNC Routers and/or Laser machines.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating CNC routers and lasers to cut and machine signage components to specification
• Loading, setting, and unloading materials such as ACM, aluminium, acrylic, PVC, MDF, and foamex
• Programming or editing jobs using CAD/CAM or router software (where trained)
• Checking parts against drawings and job sheets for accuracy and finish
• Carrying out basic quality control and dimensional checks
• Monitoring machine operation and identifying faults or tool wear
• Performing basic machine maintenance and housekeeping
• Ensuring correct material orientation, feeds, and speeds
• Working to production schedules and deadlines
• Following health & safety procedures and safe working practices
• Keeping work areas clean, organised, and free from waste
• Liaising with sign makers and production staff to support overall build processes

About You

• Have previous experience with operating CNC Routers and/or Lasers
• Ability to stand on feet for majority of the day
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Work well as part of a team
• Willingness to learn how to operate and possibly set other machinery as required
