Job summary

The Mill in Poole, United Kingdom, is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer Setter Operator for Mill/Turn machinery. You will set up and run Mazak-controlled CNC mills/turns, proving out programs and inspecting first-off components to drawing tolerances.

You’ll work to meet production targets, apply lean principles, and contribute to a rapid growth in a global engineering environment. Overtime is paid; a competitive benefits package is offered.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to read drawings.

Responsibilities

• Select tooling and holding devices from tool sheets.
• Set to set-up sheets and amend as required.
• Prove out programs and conduct first off inspections.
• Maintain production targets and lean principles; complete OEE data sheets.
• Ensure tooling and gauging remain high quality.
• Liaise with production engineers to boost productivity.
• Work independently and in a team; stay motivated.
• Produce components to drawing tolerances within quality specs.

Job Duties

• Ability to select the correct tooling, holding devices for manufacture from tool sheets.
• Set to the set-up sheets, amend as required.
• Prove out proven/unproven programs.
• Conduct first off inspections and complete feedback tickets of set and run times.
• Maintain production targets, maintain lean principles, and complete OEE data sheets.
• Ensure all tooling and gauging is always maintained to a high quality and maintain lean principles.
• Liaising with production engineers to ensure productivity.
• Able to work individually as well as part a team and be highly motivated.
• Ability to produce components to drawing tolerances within the quality specification within the various industries sectors.
• The ideal CNC Programmer Setter Operator - Mill/Turn, will have completed an apprenticeship or gained equivalent practical experience, with a proven ability to set and run CNC Mill/Turn machines using Mazak controls.
• You will be a skilled in machining and able to produce high-quality components within specified drawing tolerances and production efficiency targets.

Benefits & Compensation

• Basic salary, £45,700 plus paid overtime after 37 hours, 33 days holiday with an option to buy five extra days, matched contributory pension scheme, health cash plan, PPE provided.
• Double Days shift pattern is as follows: - Early Shift - Monday to Thursday 6am to 2.15pm and Friday 6am to 2pm Late Shift - Monday to Thursday 2:15pm to 10:15pm and Friday 12pm to 7:30pm 2 weeks rotation shift
