Job summary

Streamline Search Ltd in Poole is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer Setter Operator to join a specialist precision engineering business. You will program, set and operate Mazak CNC lathes and machining centres, reading detailed drawings and ensuring components meet tight tolerances.

You will determine machining methods, write Mazak ISO programs, select tooling, carry out first-offs, and maintain quality in a ISO 9001:2015 environment, working to production times and continually seeking

Qualifications

• Proficient in programming, setting and operating CNC machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with Mazak machinery is highly desirable.
• Experience in a quality-controlled manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate Mazak CNC lathes, machining centres, or both.
• Read and interpret detailed customer engineering drawings and specifications.
• Determine the most effective machining methods and processes for each component.
• Write and edit Mazak and ISO CNC programmes.
• Select appropriate tooling, cutting inserts and machining conditions.
• Carry out first-off inspections to ensure components meet specifications before production.
• Create, store and maintain CNC programmes.
• Review works orders and instructions to understand machining requirements.
• Monitor production quality and ensure components meet standards.
• Work to agreed production and run times while maintaining quality.
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve production methods, efficiency and quality.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment per ISO 9001:2015.
