Responsibilities

• Creating, developing and proving CNC programs for production.
• Setting and operating CNC machining centres for production runs.
• Carrying out both manned and unmanned machining operations.
• Working from detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Maintaining tight tolerances and high standards of quality.
• Inspecting components and ensuring they meet required specifications.
• Carrying out routine machine maintenance checks and completing relevant records.
• Identifying tooling requirements and recommending tooling improvements.
• Contributing to process improvements and improving machining efficiency.
• Working closely with engineering, design and production teams.
• Providing technical input into SOPs and manufacturing processes.
• Proactively identifying and resolving machining and production issues.

The Role

As a CNC Programmer Setter, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC machinery to produce precision components to customer drawings and specifications.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Creating, developing and proving CNC programs for production.
• Setting and operating CNC machining centres for production runs.
• Carrying out both manned and unmanned machining operations.
• Working from detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a CNC Programmer Setter.
• Experience with CAM programming.
• Experience with Hurco machinery would be highly advantageous.
• Experience with Edgecam would be highly advantageous.
• The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working to tight tolerances and demanding quality standards.
• A good understanding of tooling and machining processes.
• Strong attention to detail.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• The ability to work effectively alongside engineering and production teams.
