Job summary

The Job People are recruiting for a skilled CNC Programmer/Setter in Stone, Staffordshire. The role offers a £42,000 to £50,000 basic salary with overtime, and an immediate start in high-spec engineering environments including aviation, automotive and marine sectors.

Working Monday to Friday, 7:00am–4:30pm (Fri 7:00am–1:00pm). You will read blueprints, set CNC paths, adjust tool lengths, and perform rigorous quality checks on complex components.

Qualifications

• Experience with milling CNC programming and setting.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Proficiency in using in-process gauging and inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC machinery to produce designated components.
• Adjust tool paths and select speeds/feeds for optimal results.
• Read blueprints and input design specs into modelling software.
• Perform quality checks and calibration to ensure accuracy.
• Input Datum positions and manage tool offsets as required.
• Maintain equipment calibration and safe operating conditions.

CNC Programmer / Setter

Permanent Position

£42,000 to £50,000 basic salary – plus overtime available

Immediate position

Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Milling CNC Programmer and Setter who wants to grow and develop their career. You will be working in aviation, automotive, marine and high-spec engineering quality machining environments. This role requires the top industry skills and the ability to showcase your capabilities.

Location

Based in Stone, Staffordshire.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 7:00am – 1:00pm Friday.

Duties

• Working in the automotive, aviation and marine industry
• Reading and interpreting technical blueprints, inputting design specifications
• Adjusting machine cutting paths and performing quality checks
• Inputting product design into computer modelling software
• Setting and operating CNC machinery to produce designated components
• Setting part datums using probing cycles and manual methods
• Entering and changing tool lengths and datum positions as needed
• Ensuring all equipment used is calibrated and in good operating condition

Experience Required

• Milling
• CNC Programming
• Previous work experience on 5-axis, 4-axis or 3-axis CNC machines
• Setting and operating CNC using Fanuc control
• Relevant experience within Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering
• Understanding of engineering drawings
• Working knowledge of control systems
• Tool change, speed and feed selection
• Ability to use a variety of in-process gauging and inspection equipment
• Machining experience
• Experience machining complex components from a variety of metals
• Good communication skills, written and verbal
• Manufacturing/production background
