Job summary

Sigma Recruitment Limited seeks a CNC Programmer/Setter to program, set and run 5-axis milling on aluminium parts. You will hold tolerances to 0.05mm and work on components for advanced electronics gear. The role offers a four-and-a-bit day week, with a Friday finish and no overtime.

You will use CAD/CAM software to generate programs, upload to machines, and refine existing code as new work arrives. Expect an employee-owned environment with a profit bonus historically around £3,600 per annum.

Qualifications

• Proven experience writing CNC programs from drawings and DXF/STP files.
• Hands-on 5-axis milling (3+2) setup and operation of machines.
• Comfortable with conversational programming systems using Edgecam; HAAS a strong advantage.

A four-and-a-bit day week: Monday to Thursday with a Friday finish around 11:30am-12pm. Thats most of Friday and every weekend back for family, the workshop at home, or whatever you enjoy.

Your salary, benefits & hours of work

£42,000-£45,000 depending on experience EOT profit bonus when awarded, on top of your salary, as part of an employee-owned business

You'll get 24 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays from Day One

You'll work 39 hours Monday to Thursday plus a Friday morning, with room to flex when you start - some start at 6:30am, others at 8am.

What you'll do as the CNC Programmer / Setter

• Produce CNC programs from drawings and STP/DXF files using CAD/CAM software
• Upload programs to the machines, then set and operate them to produce the finished part
• Run 5-axis milling work (3+2) on aluminium components for the electronics sector
• Adjust and refine existing programs, and write new ones as fresh work comes in
• Hold tight tolerances of 0.05mm and tighter on parts up to around 400mm square

What you'll need to apply for the CNC Programmer / Setter

• Proven experience writing CNC machining programs from drawings and STP/DXF files using CAD/CAM software
• Hands-on 5-axis milling (3+2) experience, setting and operating the machines to produce finished parts
• Comfortable with a conversational programming system (Edgecam and HAAS a strong advantage) and able to work independently
