Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join a precision engineering machine shop. This hands-on role involves programming, setting and operating CNC milling or turning machines to manufacture precision components from engineering drawings within a low-volume, high-quality production environment.

The position follows a double day shift pattern with a salary up to £46,000 including shift premium, plus pension, life assurance, EAP, Cycle to Work and ongoing training

Qualifications

• Experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling or turning machines.
• Experience working to tight tolerances from engineering drawings.
• Good knowledge of inspection techniques using measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC milling or turning machines.
• Manufacture precision components to engineering drawings and tight tolerances.
• Produce low-volume, high-quality machined parts.
• Manufacture and modify jigs, fixtures and tooling.
• Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Record production activity using the company's ERP system.
• Work to production schedules and agreed machining times.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and health & safety.
