Job summary

Wagstaff Recruitment is recruiting a CNC Programmer in Coventry to develop and modify CAM programs for 3- and 5-axis machines, selecting tooling and machine parameters for optimum output. The role requires hands-on programming experience in a joinery or woodworking setting and interaction with estimating and project teams.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in CNC programming, proficiency with SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or AutoCAD, and the ability to read complex drawings accurately.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years CNC programming experience, including 3- and 5-axis machines.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD).
• Ability to interpret complex 2D and 3D technical drawings accurately.
• CNC programming in a joinery or woodworking environment is desirable.
• Experience with Biesse and B Solid machines is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify CAM programs for 3- and 5-axis CNC machines.
• Select tooling, cutting methods, materials and machine parameters to maximise efficiency and quality.
• Provide technical input to estimating and project teams on CNC processes, costs and production.
• Produce accurate works orders, drawings and technical documentation for shopfloor use.

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000
Shifts: Monday to Friday (day shifts, flexible)

Commutable from: Rugby, Kenilworth, Leamington Spa, Warwick, Nuneaton, Bedworth

Role & Responsibilities

• Develop and modify CAM programs for 3- and 5-axis CNC machines.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ CNC programming experience, including both 3‑axis and 5‑axis machines.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD)
• Ability to interpret complex 2D and 3D technical drawings accurately.
• CNC programming experience within a joinery or woodworking environment – desirable.
