Meraki 2 Ltd t/as Magnus Search is partnering with a world-class precision engineering manufacturer in Crewkerne to recruit a CNC Programmer / Setter. The role offers a competitive package up to £57,000 including shift allowance and a quarterly bonus, with permanent, on-site employment.

You will set, program and operate Citizen sliding-head machines and edit Fanuc G-Code, delivering high-precision components and driving continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming and setting CNC turning machines.
• Essential: Citizen sliding-head machine experience.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls and G-Code.
• Independently set machines and resolve machining issues, producing tight tolerances.
• Strong inspection and quality awareness.

Responsibilities

We're looking for an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter to join a world-class precision engineering manufacturer in Crewkerne.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong Citizen sliding-head experience, who is confident programming, setting and troubleshooting machines and wants to work on high-precision components where quality really matters.

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll be responsible for setting, programming and operating CNC turning machines to produce complex, high-precision components to exacting standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting and operating Citizen CNC sliding-head machines
• Programming and editing CNC programmes using Fanuc controls and G-Code
• Producing precision components to tight tolerances
• Making programme and machine adjustments to optimise quality and efficiency
• Carrying out first-off inspections and quality checks
• Identifying and troubleshooting machining issues
• Working closely with production and engineering teams to meet targets
• Supporting Kaizen, Lean and Six Sigma improvement initiatives
• Supporting training and development initiatives
• Helping drive continuous improvements across the manufacturing process

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for a genuine CNC Programmer / Setter — not someone whose experience is limited to operating machines.

You’ll ideally have:

• Proven experience programming and setting CNC turning machines
• Essential: Citizen sliding-head machine experience
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls and G-Code
• The ability to independently set machines and resolve machining issuesExperience producing components to tight tolerances
• Strong inspection and quality awareness
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
