About the Opportunity

We are excited to invite applications for an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to join our day shift team. In this role, you will be responsible for off-line generation of CNC programs (using Edgecam / Catia), machining strategy, tool path generation, and interpretation of technical drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerances.

Your specific responsibilities will include:

1. Undertaking CNC component machining on defense projects to meet scheduled requirements.
2. Ensuring all documentation for engineering systems and defect reporting are incorporated for traceability.
3. Liaising with BAE Systems' Quality staff to ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
4. Complying with safety, health, and environment procedures, as well as quality systems.
5. Alerting the organization to potential or known quality issues.
6. Providing input and recommendations for process and procedure improvements.
7. Validating parts as they are manufactured.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal applicant will possess:

• Experience programming and operating CNC multi-axis machining centers using Fanuc, Heidenhain, Mazatrol, and Siemens controllers.
• CAD/CAM programming experience including manufacturing and modeling using Edgecam, Catia, and Inventor.
• An appropriate mechanical trade qualification.
• A high level of computer literacy.
• A strong team focus and a can-do attitude.
• Effective communication skills with all stakeholders.

Clearances

This role requires a Defence security clearance. Applicants must be Australian citizens and either possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain clearances. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) may apply, and nationality could influence suitability.
