Job summary

ABS Talent is recruiting a CNC Programmer / Production Engineer for a leading motorsport engineering client in Banbury. You will join a fast-paced, world-class machine shop working on small-batch and prototype components to the highest standards.

The role covers producing Hypermill 5-axis programs, tooling, setup sheets, and fixture design, plus day-to-day scheduling, liaison with designers and customers, and maintaining TPM and ERP data to ensure accurate job packs.

Qualifications

• Hypermill 5-axis CAD/CAM experience in Open Mind.
• 3+ years in machining with batch and prototype work.
• Able to read drawings with GD&T.
• Reliable under deadlines; proactive team player.

Responsibilities

• Produce CNC programs (Hypermill 5-axis) with tool lists and fixtures.
• Run day-to-day machine shop: scheduling and pricing.
• Liaise with designers, buyers and customers.
• Maintain TPM records and weekly maintenance sheets, coordinate servicing.
• Order tools and manage tool vending inventory.
• Complete structures and routings in the ERP system for accurate job packs.

Salary: Up to £55,000 (depending on experience)

ABS Talent is recruiting a CNC Programmer / Production Engineer on behalf of a leading motorsport engineering client in Banbury. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an elite, fast-paced machine shop working on small-batch and one-off prototype components to the highest standards.

The role

• Producing CNC programs (Hypermill 5-axis) with supporting tool lists, setup sheets and fixture design
• Helping run the day-to-day machine shop — scheduling and pricing of work
• Liaising with designers, buyers and customers
• Maintaining TPM records, weekly maintenance sheets and coordinating machine servicing
• Ordering tools and consumables, and managing the tool vending inventory
• Completing structures and routings in the ERP system for accurate job packs

About you

• Minimum 3 years' Hypermill (Open Mind) CAD/CAM, 5-axis, programming complex parts to a high standard
• A machining background including batch and prototype work
• Confident reading engineering drawings with GD&T
• Proactive and reliable under deadline pressure
• A team player who enjoys the broader production side, not just programming
