Job summary

ABS Talent Ltd. is recruiting a CNC Programmer / Production Engineer for a leading motorsport client in Banbury. The role focuses on Hypermill 5-axis programming, production scheduling, and coordinating with designers and buyers on prototypes and small batches.

The successful candidate will read engineering drawings with GD&T, manage TPM and tooling, and contribute across the production spectrum in a fast-paced, elite manufacturing environment.

Location: Oxfordshire

Job type: Permanent, full-time

Salary: Up to £55,000 (depending on experience)

The opportunity

ABS Talent is recruiting a CNC Programmer / Production Engineer on behalf of a leading motorsport engineering client in Banbury. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an elite, fast-paced machine shop working on small-batch and one-off prototype components to the highest standards.

The role

• Producing CNC programs (Hypermill 5-axis) with supporting tool lists, setup sheets and fixture design
• Helping run the day-to‑day machine shop — scheduling and pricing of work
• Liaising with designers, buyers and customers
• Maintaining TPM records, weekly maintenance sheets and coordinating machine servicing
• Ordering tools and consumables, and managing the tool vending inventory
• Completing structures and routings in the ERP system for accurate job packs

About you

• Minimum 3 years' Hypermill (Open Mind) CAD/CAM, 5-axis, programming complex parts to a high standard
• A machining background including batch and prototype work
• Confident reading engineering drawings with GD&T
• Proactive and reliable under deadline pressure
• A team player who enjoys the broader production side, not just programming
