Castle Employment Group is seeking an experienced CNC Plasma Profiling Operative to join a structural steel manufacturer based in West Yorkshire. You will set up and operate plasma cutting machinery to profile steel plates to engineering drawings.

This permanent day-shift role offers a 4-day week with Fridays off, a salary of £32,833 per year, overtime at enhanced rates, 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, a pension and private healthcare.

Qualifications

• Previous CNC machine operating experience within engineering or manufacturing.
• Experience with CNC plasma cutting, steel profiling or similar CNC cutting machinery.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
• Experience working with steel plate or structural steel components.
• Knowledge of CNC machine setting, operation and cutting processes.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Proactive approach to health and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsabilités

• Setting up and operating CNC plasma profiling and cutting machinery.

• Monitoring cutting operations and adjusting machine settings where required.
• Ensuring accurate cutting dimensions, tolerances and quality standards.
• Carrying out grinding, deburring and finishing.
• Using overhead cranes to safely move and position steel materials.
• Completing quality inspections and relevant production documentation.
• Identifying machine faults, cutting defects or quality issues.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Working efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines.

Castle Employment Group is recruiting for an experienced CNC Plasma Profiling Operative to join a well-established and highly respected structural steel manufacturing business based in Wetherby.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC Operator with a background in plasma cutting, steel profiling or metal processing to join a busy manufacturing environment offering long-term stability, opportunities for progression and an excellent 4-day working week with every Friday off!

The Role

As a CNC Plasma Profiling Operative, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC plasma cutting machinery to accurately cut and profile steel plate and components used in structural steel manufacturing.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting up and operating CNC plasma profiling and cutting machinery
• Cutting steel plate and components accurately to engineering specifications
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and cutting instructions
• Monitoring cutting operations and adjusting machine settings where required
• Ensuring accurate cutting dimensions, tolerances and quality standards
• Carrying out associated tasks including grinding, deburring and finishing
• Using overhead cranes to safely move and position steel materials
• Completing quality inspections and relevant production documentation
• Identifying machine faults, cutting defects or quality issues
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
• Working efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines

What We're Looking For

We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

• Previous CNC machine operating experience within engineering or manufacturing
• Experience with CNC plasma cutting, steel profiling or similar CNC cutting machinery
• A good understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications
• Experience working with steel plate or structural steel components
• Knowledge of CNC machine setting, operation and cutting processes
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• A proactive approach to health and safety
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience with CNC plasma profiling, CNC gas cutting, flame cutting, overhead cranes or heavy steel fabrication would be particularly advantageous.

Candidates from CNC laser cutting, oxy-fuel profiling or other steel processing backgrounds with transferable skills are also encouraged to apply.
