Job summary

Digital Garage is seeking a skilled CNC Operator and Cabinet Maker for a 3-month fixed-term contract at our Banbury workshop. You will manufacture bespoke furniture for creative media applications, operating a CNC flatbed router and hand tools to a high standard.

Applicants should have experience with wood and sheet materials, read technical drawings, and operate workshop machinery such as a press, table saw, spindle moulder.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in manufacturing bespoke and production furniture to a high standard.
• Experience operating a CNC flatbed router in a workshop environment.
• Skills with wood, sheet materials and some metalwork.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
• Proven hand skills with wood, sheet materials and metalwork.
• Proven ability to use large workshop machines safely and effectively.
• City and Guilds / BTEC / Apprenticeship in furniture making desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create bespoke products for creative media applications in a workshop setting.
• Read and interpret technical drawings to exact specifications.
• Operate CNC router and hand/bench tools to finish furniture pieces.
• Maintain quality, safety and productivity in a busy fabrication team.

Are you:

• Passionate about furniture manufacture, furniture production and technology?
• An experienced CNC Operator?
• An all- rounder experienced Cabinet Maker?

• Enjoy creating bespoke furniture for the creative media and entertainment technology sector?
• Like to see your work being used by some high-profile creative media and education clients?

Do you have:

• Proven experience in manufacturing both bespoke and production furniture and cabinetry to a high standard?
• Previous experience of operating a CNC flatbed router machine in a production and or workshop environment?
• Skills working with wood, sheet materials, and some metalwork?
• The ability to accurately interpret and work from technical drawings?
• Proven hand skills - working with wood, sheet materials, and some metalwork.
• Proven skills - confident using large workshop machines such as press machine, table saws, crosscut saws, surface planer and thicknesser, spindle moulder?
• Proven sanding and finishing techniques skills?
• Great work ethic
• City and Guilds, BTEC, Apprenticeship time served or equivalent in furniture making - desirable

The opportunity:

Due to continued business growth, we are looking for someone to join our fabrications team on a 3 month fixed term contract. You would be creating bespoke products for creative media applications - such as esports arenas, podcast desks, bespoke products for recording studios, edit suites, production galleries, dubbing theatres, television and film studios. We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced CNC Operator & Cabinet Maker to join the team with the potential to become a permanent position.

The deal

• Hours of work: 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday [42.5 hrs/week]
