Job description

Focused Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced CNC Operator to join our client's manufacturing site in the Ebbw Vale area.

Role Overview

The role reports directly to the Engineering Manager and involves programming and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture precision-engineered parts. You may also undertake other activities that contribute to the company's growth, provided they are safe and within your competence.

Hours of Work

Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:15
Friday: 07:30 - 12:30

Key Duties

1. Complete a time-served apprenticeship in CNC Machining & Programming.
2. Experience in CNC Turning and manual toolroom machinery is advantageous.
3. Proven ability to program parts on control panels and from models using CAD/CAM software; SolidCAM experience is a plus.
4. Work from drawings/models to produce parts within accurate tolerances.
5. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System procedures.
6. Use various measurement equipment to verify parts.
7. Report work plan conflicts to management.
8. Train others as needed and maintain equipment cleanliness.
9. Follow standing operating procedures (SOPs).
10. Identify and report non-conforming products, shortages, or upcoming issues promptly.

Candidate Profile

An apprenticeship in CNC machining, preferably with CNC milling and turning experience, is required. CAD/CAM software experience is essential. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team is important. Experience in food or pharmaceutical environments is advantageous, but flexibility is essential to meet operational demands.
