Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is seeking an experienced CNC machinist to join an established South Devon precision engineering business. The role focuses on sliding-head/Swiss-type machines, including Star and Citizen equipment, with Fanuc controls.

You will program, set and operate CNC sliding-head lathes, read drawings, and ensure tight tolerances while maintaining high production standards. This permanent position offers long-term career development and pension benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience programming, setting and operating CNC sliding-head machines.
• Familiar with Star SJ10 or SW12 and Citizen machinery.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and maintain tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating CNC sliding-head machinery.
• Working with Star and Citizen machines.
• Programming using Fanuc controls.
• Producing precision, fine-tolerance components.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Carrying out quality checks and maintaining high production standards.
• Working with small-diameter/fine-tube components.
• Supporting efficient production and maintaining machine performance.
