Prime Appointments Ltd is recruiting a hands-on CNC Operator / Wood Machinist for a busy workshop in Braintree, Essex. You will operate CNC machines and woodworking equipment to manufacture timber components and assist with basic assembly.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday with early finish on Fridays. The ideal candidate has CNC experience and confidence with wood joinery in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Previous CNC operating experience in a workshop environment.
• Experience with wood, timber or joinery products.
• Ability to read technical drawings and work from instructions.

Responsabilités

• Set up and operate CNC machinery in a woodworking workshop.
• Use cross saws, band saws, routers and table saws.
• Machining timber components to spec and finishing parts.
• Carry out basic wood assembly and fitting.
• Check components for quality and accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.

CNC Operator / Wood Machinist – Braintree – Full Time – £14–£17 per hour DOE

We are currently recruiting for a CNC Operator / Wood Machinist to join a well-established manufacturing business in Braintree, specialising in the production of high-quality timber doors and joinery products.

This is a hands‑on workshop role combining CNC machine operation with basic wood assembly. The ideal candidate will have previous CNC experience and be confident using a range of woodworking machinery, alongside carrying out practical assembly work within a manufacturing environment.

About the Role

You will be responsible for operating CNC machinery and other woodworking equipment to manufacture timber components, alongside supporting the assembly and preparation of finished wooden products.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting and operating CNC machinery within a woodworking environment
• Operating woodworking machinery, including cross saws, band saws, routers and table saws
• Machining timber components to required specifications
• Reading technical drawings and following job instructions
• Carrying out basic wood assembly and fitting work
• Using hand and power tools to assemble and finish products
• Checking finished components for quality and accuracy
• Maintaining a clean and organised workshop

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous CNC operating experience
• Experience working with wood, timber or joinery products
• Experience using cross saws, band saws, routers and table saws
• Basic wood assembly or carpentry skills
• Confident using hand and power tools
• Able to follow technical drawings and instructions
• Reliable, practical and comfortable working as part of a workshop team

What's On Offer

• £14–£17 per hour, depending on experience
• Monday to Thursday: 7:00am–4:00pm
• Friday: 6:00am–12:00pm
• Early finish every Friday
• Full-time, workshop-based position
