Job summary

Woodlands of Kingston is seeking an experienced CNC Joinery Machinist to join its Kingston machine shop. This hands-on role requires a solid joinery background and CNC machining experience to produce high-quality bespoke components while supporting the wider production team.

Operating and setting CNC machinery, reading technical drawings, and maintaining quality standards will be core duties. Weekend overtime is optional, with a competitive salary of £40,000–£45,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CNC machining experience.
• Experience in joinery or woodworking manufacturing.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings.
• CNC programming experience desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set CNC machinery within the machine shop.
• Produce bespoke joinery components accurately and efficiently.
• Read from technical drawings and production information.
• Set up machinery and select appropriate tooling.
• Carry out quality checks throughout production.
• Identify and report tooling, programme or machine issues.
• Support general machine shop activities and production requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Work closely with joinery and production teams and contribute to process improvements.

Exclusive CNC Joinery Machinist - Woodlands of Kingston

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:15pm

Overtime: Optional weekend overtime available

The Opportunity

Streamline Search are delighted to be working exclusively with Woodlands of Kingston on an exciting opportunity for an experienced CNC Joinery Machinist to join their machine shop.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong joinery background and CNC machining experience, who can hit the ground running while continuing to develop their technical skills.

The successful candidate will work within the machine shop, producing high-quality bespoke joinery components and supporting the wider production team.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating and setting CNC machinery within the machine shop.
• Producing bespoke joinery components accurately and efficiently.
• Working from technical drawings and production information.
• Setting up machinery and selecting appropriate tooling.
• Carrying out quality checks throughout production.
• Identifying and reporting any tooling, programme or machine issues.
• Supporting general machine shop activities and production requirements.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Working closely with the wider joinery and production teams.
• Contributing to improvements in machining processes and efficiency.

• Previous experience within joinery or woodworking manufacturing.
• Hands-on CNC machining experience.
• Good understanding of joinery manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• A practical, reliable and hardworking approach.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• CNC programming experience would be desirable but is not essential.
• A willingness to learn and develop their CNC and technical skills.
