Job title: CNC Operator

Salary: £15 - £18 per hour
What you will be doing as a CNC Operator?
- Set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines to meet production requirements.
- Adjust machine settings efficiently to accommodate job changes within defined timeframes.
- Interpret and understand CNC programs, ensuring correct execution of machining processes.
- Perform precise measurements using micrometres, verniers, and other inspection tools to verify components meet drawing dimensions and validation sheets.
- Conduct in-process inspections and compare parts against technical drawings and specifications to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Follow company quality systems and procedures, maintaining high standards throughout all tasks.
- Respond to technical queries and troubleshoot basic issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with colleagues and provide support on other tasks to help ensure smooth workflow across the team.
- Report any operational issues to the Unit Manager or Supervisor promptly.
- Comply with all health and safety requirements, completing any required training and always adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain punctuality and professionalism, contributing to an efficient and reliable work environment.
What qualifications do you need to be a CNC Operator?
- Qualification in engineering or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role or industry.
- Strong technical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret data and drawings accurately.
- Proficient in using a variety of precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
- Experience with systematic problem-solving techniques and continuous improvement practices.
- Detail-oriented, with a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
- Able to work efficiently under pressure, meeting tight deadlines without compromising standards.
- Quick to learn and adaptable to new systems, processes, or technologies.
