Job description

Position: CNC Machine Operator

Location: Camden, NJ; Advanced Manufacturing Division

Holtec International seeks qualified applicants for the position of CNC Machine Operator at its manufacturing and production facilities in Camden, NJ. The CNC Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC Mills and Lathes to ensure high-quality, precision machining of components. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work under a structured quality management system.

The CNC Machine Operator will work closely with production teams, engineers, and quality control specialists to ensure all parts meet the required specifications and tolerances.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2-Year Technical Degree or completion of a relevant apprenticeship program (or equivalent experience and on-the-job training)
• 3-5 years of professional CNC machining experience; 5+ years preferred
• Experience with CNC machinery and programming
• Desirable: experience with Fanuc and Siemens 840D controls, understanding of different metal types and machining characteristics, basic preventative maintenance skills

Responsibilities:

1. Set up CNC Mill & Lathe machines using provided programs, fixtures, and tool lists.
2. Adjust machine settings for optimal performance and quality.
3. Monitor machine feed and speed during operations.
4. Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges; document findings.
5. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
6. Load raw materials, verify alignment, and conduct machine warm-ups and safety checks.
7. Continuously monitor operations, making adjustments as needed.
8. Maintain records of production, scrap, and rework.
9. Participate in team meetings and suggest process improvements.
10. Report mechanical issues immediately.
11. Follow safety protocols at all times.
