Job summary

Prime Appointments Recruitment Agency is seeking a CNC Milling Operator in Maldon, Essex, to produce precision components for a range of industries. You will operate milling machines, prove out jobs, and read engineering drawings to tight tolerances.

The ideal candidate has CNC milling experience, can carry out first-off and in-process inspections, and maintains high quality standards. Desirable skills include CNC setting or programming and experience with Hurco or Fanuc controls.

CNC Operator - Milling

Location: Maldon, Essex

Salary: Up to £15.50 per hour (DOE) + Overtime

Are you an experienced CNC Milling Operator looking to join a well-established precision engineering company? Our client is a growing subcontract manufacturer producing high-quality one-off and small-batch components for a range of industries, including Motorsport, Defence, and Pharmaceutical.

The Role

As a CNC Operator, You Will Be Responsible For

• Operating CNC milling machines to produce precision-engineered components.
• Proving out jobs before production.
• Working to extremely tight tolerances (down to 20 microns).
• Inspecting your own work using precision measuring equipment.
• Reading and following engineering drawings.
• Maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous CNC milling experience.
• The ability to work to fine tolerances.
• Experience carrying out first-off and in-process inspections.
• Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.

The Following Would Be Advantageous But Are Not Essential

• CNC setting and programming experience.
• Hurco or Fanuc controls experience.
• Apprenticeship or engineering qualifications.
