Job summary

Ganymede Solutions Ltd. is seeking an experienced CNC Milling Setter/Operator in the Bradford area.

You will set up and run CNC milling machines to manufacture components from castings and raw materials, following engineering drawings and using existing programs with minor edits. The role requires practical machining experience, apprentice-trained or time-served, and the ability to read drawings and measure for tight tolerances.

Qualifications

CNC Milling Setter / Operator

Location: Bradford, Bingley, Shipley, Halifax

Salary: £27,000-£30,000 DOE

Are you an experienced CNC Milling Setter / Operator with a background in manufacturing, looking for your next permanent role? Do you take pride in producing quality components to tight tolerances and have experience working with engineering drawings? Experience with measuring equipment would also be a real advantage.

My client is an established manufacturer of industrial process equipment in West Yorkshire, looking for two CNC Milling Setter / Operators to join their machining team. They supply standard and bespoke machinery to leading bakeries in the UK and overseas, and quality components are at the heart of what they do.

Set, Operate and Manufacture Quality Components

This is a hands‑on machining role where you'll be setting and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture components from castings and raw materials. You'll work with Dah Lih and Eumach CNC milling machines, using existing programmes with some minor editing where necessary.

Your responsibilities

Your day‑to‑day work will involve setting and operating CNC milling machines safely and efficiently, manufacturing components from castings and raw materials, and working from engineering drawings to achieve the required tolerances. You'll use existing CNC programmes, make minor edits when needed, inspect finished components using appropriate measuring equipment and maintain high‑quality standards throughout production. You'll also keep your work area safe and organised, support stock control and ensure production targets and timescales are met.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you'll need practical machining experience, ideally as a CNC Milling Setter or Operator. You'll be apprentice‑trained or time‑served, or able to show equivalent practical experience gained in the trade and hold GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent). You'll be comfortable reading engineering drawings, working accurately to tolerances and using measuring equipment to check finished components.
